When I set out to write My Alphabet Book #1, I wanted each letter of the alphabet to have its own personality and story. I wanted learning to feel like an adventure, full of laughter, imagination, and colorful friends. Every character you meet in the book is someone I created to help children connect with letters, remember sounds, and have fun while learning.
Anna Alyse and Friends – Letter A
I created Anna Alyse as a little astronaut with a big red apple. She floats in space with her friends Alan the ape, Aaliyah the alligator, Anita the anteater, and Alfred the antelope. When I wrote her story, I imagined children giggling as they picture the adventures in space, and that’s exactly what I wanted—to make “A is for Anna Alyse” unforgettable.
Big Brown Bear – Letter B
For the letter B, I wrote about a big, beautiful brown bear who loves baking bread and floating in a banana boat. I pictured children laughing as they imagine this silly bear on her fun adventures, and I wanted the letter B to feel just as joyful.
Cuddly Characters – Letter C
I loved creating C, where I put myself in the story with my cuddly coat, hiding carrots, a cake, and a cow, while Cookie Monster nibbles crunchy cookies. Writing this scene, I imagined children snuggling with the book, pointing at characters, and repeating words without even trying.
Daffy Dyllicee and Friends – Letter D
D became one of my favorite letters to write. Daffy Dyllicee dances with her dinosaur Demcidada and his dog DeeCee, along with Dunley and Ducie Ducky. I wanted this story to be full of laughter, movement, and fun so that children would remember the letter D with joy.
Elyssicity the Elephant – Letter E
For E, I imagined Elyssicity the elephant sitting on top of the world with her best friend, the Easter Bunny, counting eggs and eggplants. I wanted counting and letters to feel like a game, so children could play along while learning.
Funny Friends – Letters F to H
I created F, G, and H with so much fun in mind. Funny Foxy, Fred the fish, Fabio the frog, Goldie the goat, Giggles the giraffe, and Heddy the horse all have little adventures that help children remember letters easily. Writing these stories, I pictured the smiles on children’s faces as they read aloud with their parents or teachers.
Imaginative Characters – Letters I to L
I loved bringing I to life with Indizzlila, her iguana, and her pink lion. J introduced a jellyfish jumping rope, K became a playful kangaroo with keys, and L is Lucy, the lion who loves lemon lollipops. I designed each character to be memorable, funny, and interactive so that children can imagine the stories while learning.
More Magical Friends – Letters M to P
I wrote M for Mildred the monkey sharing mangos and muffins, N for a nosy nurse counting nuts and numbers, O for Olive making omelets, and P for Pam painting her pets. Each character became part of a little world I wanted children to explore, remember, and love.
Quirky Characters – Letters Q to Z
Q is Quenton, who loves his Queen Mother, R is Rebbiano running races and smelling roses, and S is Sam counting sheep. T is Tressa, U is Uncle the umpire, V is Victor visiting for vacation, W is a wonderful woman watching waterfalls, X is Xavier with a xylophone, Y is a happy child with yogurt, and Z is all about zigzags and the zoo. I carefully crafted each one to make learning letters a joyful adventure.
Why I Created These Characters
I created these characters because I wanted children to connect letters with stories and friends. I imagined children laughing, repeating words, and acting out scenes as they learn. These characters aren’t just cute—they are little guides helping children discover letters, sounds, and words in a playful and meaningful way.
Make Your Own Alphabet Adventures
One of the things I love most is hearing children create their own stories with these characters. I encourage parents and teachers to let children imagine what Anna Alyse or Lucy the lion might do next. Children can draw, act, or tell new stories, and in doing so, letters become unforgettable.
Don’t Miss The Alphabets Party!
Writing My Alphabet Book #1 was a joy because I could bring letters to life through characters, color, and stories. I invite you to read this book with your children, meet Anna, Lucy, Elyssicity, and all their friends, and explore the alphabets together. Laugh, imagine, and make learning a magical party that your little ones will never forget.
